Who we are

Major Home Security is the business name of Major Security Holdings. This policy covers our website, shopping and consultation tools, customer communications and information we handle to arrange your services.

Privacy questions or requests: office@majorhomesecurity.com or (800) 564-8273

Information we collect

  • Information you provide: your name, email, phone, billing and shipping details, protected property address, order information and messages to our team.
  • Consultation and availability requests: contact details, your question, home ZIP code and relevant property information. If you choose to share an equipment selection with a consultation request, we receive the selected products and quantities.
  • Account and service information: selected plans, billing and service records, device details, emergency contacts, activation information and relevant alarm events. Interactive and video services involve additional device, event or recording information according to the services you activate and their provider terms.
  • Website and technical information: browser and device information, IP address, pages visited, referring pages, campaign information and shopping-session activity. Cookies and browser storage help provide the functions described below.

Our builder keeps questionnaire answers and selections in your browser’s session storage. The optional consultation handoff shares product selections, not the questionnaire answers. Information needed to add equipment to your cart or complete an order is sent to the store.

Please do not put alarm codes, passwords, full payment-card details or emergency contact lists into a general contact form or ordinary email. Provide another person’s information only when you have permission or another lawful basis to do so.

How we use information

We use information to answer questions, check availability and compatibility, prepare and fulfill orders, process payments, arrange setup and service, provide support and warranty assistance, maintain customer records, prevent abuse and understand how visitors find and use our website.

We also use information to communicate about orders, billing, service, safety and account changes; meet legal and recordkeeping requirements; and address disputes or claims. We may send our own newsletters and promotional emails, subject to your choices and applicable requirements.

Consultation requests are saved in our website’s private callback queue and sent to our office by email so we can follow up. Selecting a monitoring preference in the cart records your interest; it does not activate monitoring or authorize recurring charges.

When information is shared

We do not provide your personal information to other businesses for their own marketing. We do use providers that help operate our business, including website hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, shipping, customer support and security-service providers. Information is shared as needed for those functions.

Alarm.com provides interactive and video services, and Affiliated Monitoring provides professional alarm monitoring, as applicable to your activated services. Necessary account, device, event and contact information is used to deliver those services. Relevant information may also be provided to your designated contacts or emergency responders when an alarm response requires it.

We may disclose information to meet a legal obligation, respond to valid legal process, protect people or address fraud, security incidents and legal claims. Information may be transferred in a business transaction affecting our services, subject to applicable obligations and required notices.

Providers and websites you interact with directly may also have their own privacy notices. This policy does not replace the terms and privacy information presented by your payment, app, monitoring or video provider.

Cookies, analytics and browser storage

WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies and related storage for functions such as shopping sessions, cart contents, account access, security and preferences. The builder uses session storage to keep your progress as you move between pages.

We use Google Analytics to understand website visits and usage. We also use WooCommerce order attribution, which records information such as a referring page, campaign tags and session activity to help us understand how orders originate. These tools use cookies or similar technologies.

You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and clear site storage. Some shopping or account functions may not work correctly when necessary storage is blocked. Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. That tool concerns Google Analytics; it does not disable every form of website storage or WooCommerce order attribution. You can also read Google’s privacy policy.

Email and contact choices

You can stop Major Home Security marketing emails using the opt-out instructions in a message or by emailing office@majorhomesecurity.com. You do not need to stop receiving service or close your account to opt out of marketing. We honor marketing-email opt-outs within 10 business days.

Order confirmations, account notices, billing, safety and other necessary service messages may continue. A callback or availability request permits us to respond to that request; it does not authorize marketing texts or automated calls. We obtain separate permission when required for a communication channel or purpose.

How long we keep information

Our retention policy depends on the type of record and why we need it:

  • Orders, invoices, contracts and warranty records: seven years after the relevant transaction or the end of the related service relationship, as applicable.
  • Consultation and availability inquiries that do not become customers: twelve months after our last contact.
  • Active account information: while the account is active, followed by retention of the records still needed for transactions, service obligations and the periods above.
  • Marketing opt-out records: the minimum information needed to continue honoring your choice, for as long as needed.

We retain information longer when needed for legal obligations, insurance requirements, an open dispute or claim, or a preservation requirement. Website and analytics records depend on their function and the settings of the services involved. These recordkeeping periods do not establish how long video clips are available in an Alarm.com account; recording availability depends on the selected video service.

Our policy is to delete or de-identify information when its retention period ends and no continuing reason requires it. A request concerning website records may also require review of related office communications and other records; it is not limited to a single website entry.

Access, correction and deletion requests

Contact office@majorhomesecurity.com to ask about your information, correct inaccurate details, request a copy or request deletion. Tell us the email or account information that will help locate your records. Do not send alarm codes or full payment details.

We may need to verify your identity or an authorized representative’s authority before releasing or changing personal information. We respond according to the rights that apply to you. Some records may need to remain for an active service, a transaction, legal obligations or the retention exceptions above. If we cannot fulfill a request in full, we will explain the applicable reason and any further options available to you.

Policy updates

We post changes here and update the date above. When a change requires additional notice or permission, we provide it as required. A website update does not by itself authorize a new use that requires your consent.
