What do I need besides the control panel?
Add compatible sensors for the openings and spaces you want to protect. The panel price does not include a whole-home sensor package. Our system builder suggests equipment and lets you adjust quantities before adding your system to the cart.
Can I buy equipment without monitoring?
Yes. Equipment-only purchases are welcome. Using the indoor camera requires an activated Alarm.com video account. Pro Video for up to four compatible cameras is included with our $35 monthly or $360 annual standard monitoring plan. Preprogramming, setup assistance and ongoing technical support are included for Major monitoring customers; a free consultation is available before you buy.
Is there a long-term monitoring contract?
The $35 monthly option has no long-term contract commitment and is paid at the start of each month. The annual option is $360 prepaid for 12 months. Contact us to review service and cancellation terms before activation.
Does smoke or water monitoring cost more?
Monitoring for compatible smoke, CO, water and freeze devices is included at the standard plan price where service is available. Devices are purchased separately and require appropriate installation, programming and testing.
Does buying equipment turn on monitoring?
No. Your account must be set up and tested, and activation confirmed. We’ll collect the monitored address, emergency call list, device names and other setup details as part of that process.
Can I use equipment I already own?
Possibly. It depends on the exact panel, communicator, devices and any existing account restrictions. Request a compatibility check before buying equipment or cancelling another service.
