Description
Add another layer inside the home
The DSC PGP9914 is an indoor passive infrared motion detector that reports activity to a compatible PowerG alarm panel. It complements entry contacts by covering an appropriately selected interior area rather than monitoring only one door or window.
Think about how people move through your home, where a detector can be placed according to its instructions, and how that area will be used while the system is armed. A good location matters more than simply adding more devices.
Designed for a connected alarm system
- Microprocessor-controlled passive infrared detection.
- Two-way PowerG wireless communication.
- Rated coverage up to 39 ft / 12 m with a 90-degree detection pattern.
- Optional pet-immunity setting rated up to 85 lb / 38 kg, with correct placement and configuration.
- Front and back cover tamper detection.
- Signal-strength indication during installation and low-battery reporting.
- Supported PowerG+ features depend on panel and firmware.
Plan around the room and your household
The manufacturer estimates six to eight years from the specified CR123A battery under typical use at 77°F; actual battery life varies with use and conditions.
Use the current installation instructions to establish mounting height, orientation, coverage and environmental limitations. Consider pets, stairs, furniture, direct sunlight and heating or cooling sources when choosing a position.
Do not assume “pet immunity” means every animal or room arrangement is suitable. The detector’s setup and the animal’s size and behavior matter. Discuss the specific application with Major Home Security if pets can approach the detector or climb within its view.

Questions before you buy
Does this replace door contacts?
It provides a different kind of protection. A contact detects its own opening, while a motion detector monitors movement in its coverage area. They can be used together as part of a planned system.
Can I leave it active when I’m at home?
That depends on your zone programming, arm mode and how you use the area. For customers monitoring with Major Home Security, we help configure the intended behavior during setup; a motion detector cannot know which person is moving through the room.
Does it require Wi-Fi or an app of its own?
It needs a compatible alarm panel rather than connecting directly to home Wi-Fi. Supported app notifications are managed through the activated system service.
Will it work with an existing panel?
Check the exact panel and firmware before ordering. Contact Major Home Security with the model number so compatibility can be confirmed.
