Add a monitored layer of fire detection
The DSC PGP9976 connects smoke and heat detection to a compatible PowerG security system. Its built-in sounder provides a local warning, while the alarm panel can communicate a programmed alarm event to your active monitoring service. That adds a response path when you are away from home or unable to reach your phone.
Choose this model when you want a dedicated smoke detector with supplemental heat sensing as part of your alarm system. It is an additional component, so you will also need a compatible control panel and appropriate coverage throughout the home.

Plan the locations before you order
Start with your home’s required smoke-alarm coverage and the manufacturer’s placement instructions. Bedrooms, hallways and different floors can have different requirements; an equipment list alone does not establish a compliant design. Placement near cooking, steam, dust or unsuitable temperatures can affect performance.
Do not remove required existing smoke alarms or assume this purchase replaces a required interconnected alarm system. Have a qualified installer review your plan when needed, and follow applicable local requirements. Give each enrolled detector a clear location name so a reported alarm identifies the right area.
Using it with IQ Panel 5
Qolsys lists the PGP9976 in the North American compatible-equipment table for IQ Panel 5. It can be part of a new Major Home Security IQ Panel 5 system, with enrollment, programming and testing completed for your installation. Before you buy
Does it detect carbon monoxide?
No. This model detects smoke and heat. For carbon monoxide, add a separate PG9933 CO detector and plan its placement separately.
Does smoke monitoring cost extra?
Smoke monitoring is included in Major Home Security’s standard monitoring plan with properly enrolled compatible equipment. Purchasing a detector does not activate service; configuration, testing and monitoring activation must be completed first.
Can I add it to my existing system?
