Description
CO detection that connects to your alarm system
The DSC PG9933 is an indoor carbon monoxide detector with PowerG wireless communication. An electrochemical sensor monitors for CO at the detector, while a built-in audible alarm and flashing indicator provide local warning. Once enrolled and configured, it also sends CO alarm and device-status messages to a compatible panel.
This is a useful addition when you want your monitored alarm system to receive CO events alongside security and smoke alarms. It is a CO-specific device: choose separate smoke detection for fire coverage.
Purpose-built for residential CO detection
- Electrochemical sensing for carbon monoxide.
- Integrated 85 dB alarm and visual status indication.
- Wireless reporting of alarms, low battery, tamper and detector trouble.
- Wall or ceiling mounting, following the installation instructions.
- Battery power using the specified CR123A lithium battery.
Get placement and replacement right
The manufacturer specifies installation by trained service personnel. Have placement and system setup completed in accordance with the manual and local requirements. This model is for indoor residential conditions, with a specified operating range of 40°F to 100°F; do not select it as an outdoor or unheated-garage sensor.
Keep required existing CO alarms in service unless a qualified review confirms your replacement arrangement meets applicable requirements. A monitored detector adds a communication path, but it still detects CO only where the sensor is located.
Record the expiry date printed on the detector. The manual identifies a five-year detector life, and a fresh battery does not extend the sensing element’s replacement date. Follow the specified testing and maintenance schedule, coordinating alarm-system testing with the monitoring provider.
Using it with IQ Panel 5
Qolsys lists the PG9933 in the North American compatible-equipment table for IQ Panel 5. It can be part of a new Major Home Security IQ Panel 5 system, with enrollment, programming and testing completed for your installation. For another control panel, check its exact model and current software before ordering.
Questions before ordering
Does it detect a natural gas or propane leak?
No. The PG9933 detects carbon monoxide, not combustible fuel gases. Choose a detector designed for the particular gas you need to monitor.
Is CO monitoring an extra monthly charge?
CO monitoring is included with Major Home Security’s standard monitoring plan when compatible equipment is properly configured and service is active. Equipment purchase alone does not start monitoring.
What else do I need?
You need a compatible PowerG alarm panel, correct programming and tested communication. Explore our IQ Panel 5 or ask us to check an existing panel. Include the panel model when contacting us so we can help confirm the right fit.
